Iyer Foundation Announces the 12th Sur Mansur Music Festival 2025

A Grand Celebration Honouring the Legacy of Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur

Mumbai, April 2025 — The Iyer Foundation, under the esteemed support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, proudly presents the 12th Sur Mansur Music Festival, a distinguished two-day festival dedicated to preserving and celebrating the immortal legacy of Padmavibhushan Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur, one of India’s most revered classical vocalists.

The festival will be hosted on Saturday, 3rd May and Sunday, 4th May 2025, at Prabodhankar Thackeray Natya Mandir Mini Theatre, Borivali (West), Mumbai, with soulful performances commencing at 8:30 PM each evening.

This year’s edition showcases an exceptional roster of artists:

Saturday, 3rd May 2025

Vocal Recital: Jui Dhaygude Pande

Flute Performance: Pt. Abhay Phagre

Accompaniment: Tabla by Gurshant Singh and Yati Bhagwat; Harmonium by Siddesh Bicholkar.

Sunday, 4th May 2025

Vocal Recital: Dr. Sanika Goregaonkar

Vocal Recital: Ustad Raja Miyan

Accompaniment: Tabla by Yati Bhagwat and Pt. Balkrishna Iyer; Harmonium by Siddesh Bicholkar.

Adding a landmark moment to the celebrations, the festival will honor Pt. Vidyadhar Vyas on his illustrious 80th birthday. The distinguished Shri will grace the felicitation ceremony. Ramdas Bhatkal, with Prof. Keshav Paranjpe skillfully anchoring the event.

Further enhancing the festival’s spirit of reverence and recognition, Foundation Director Pt. Balkrishna Iyer announced that several senior and celebrated musicians from Borivali and neighboring suburbs — including Pt. Shashikant Muley, Pt. Milind Raikar, Pt. Sudhir Naik, Ms. Shubha Joshi, Smt. Archana Kanhere and Smt. Shila MehtaSmt. Sunira Kasliwal will be felicitated for their remarkable and enduring contributions to Indian classical music.

Entry to the Sur Mansur Music Festival is free for all music lovers, with limited reserved seating available. General seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
